North Ayrshire Council Community Learning
The North Ayrshire Community Vision is that “Every person in North Ayrshire is valued and should have the best opportunities to live their life to their full potential”. Sarah and Ailsa, Community Development Workers at North Ayrshire Council are committed to connecting with young people and families in Skelmorlie as part of their work and have been very supportive of the Festival since it was first discussed.
Youth work engages with young people within their communities; it acknowledges the wider networks of peers, community and culture; it supports the young person to realise their potential and to address life’s challenges critically and creatively and it takes account of all strands of diversity. Youth Work takes place in a variety of settings, whilst using numerous approaches. It centres around young people’s needs and wants, where young people choose to participate, and builds from where young people are at recognising the young person and the youth worker as partners in a learning process.
Bee Bombs Making
The world needs as many bees as possible to make it work. Their role in nature cannot be underestimated! Play your part in this fun creative activity by making your very own bee bombs. Then, spread them in nature and see the bees visit.
