Just 26 days to go until Skelmorlie Nature Festival!
We’re very happy to bring this event to our community and hope that we can meet expectations! This is our first time organising an event like this, we are working through the logistics as best we can. We will be learning a lot from this event and if it’s successful, it’s something we can run again. We hope for your understanding and patience as we navigate this new territory! It’s hard to predict numbers, and we don’t want to inconvenience the residents of Skelmorlie, so we have a few small requests.
Some Small Requests
Booking the Events
We do not offer an online booking service, or advance booking service for the events that are happening. At this stage we expect to have some events as drop in/ walk in or bookable. Once we release the full programme we will offer more clarity around this. We expect to release the full programme next week.
Leave your car at home
Skelmorlie is a small village with limited parking places. For your convenience, we have created a getting here page which outlines all the ways you can get to Skelmorlie by public transport. We hope to have a small shuttle bus to run attendees from the community centre to the venues a little further away which do not have parking available. We urge you to walk or take public transport here wherever possible, leaving the parking spaces for people who might need it the most! As an environmental organisation, it’s great to use our public transport anyway.
No Food Provision
Providing food vendors for this event would require more licensing and introduce other issues and so we took the decision not to have any here. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch – we have a nice park in the village, but we will not be providing food. We expect people to come and go as opposed to stay all day.
About Us
We’ve made a page to introduce the people working hard behind the scenes to bring this festival to you! We are all working full time and doing the best we can to make this event a success! We are continually updating and improving our website, adding more information, adding in the providers and updating on the festival logistics! So do check back to see what’s new.
